Judgmental? This Might Be The Book For You.

If you’re a human being, you’re judgmental. It comes with the territory. As we age and experience more of life, those experiences color our thoughts, beliefs, and opinions. If we let our minds run rampant, judgment seeps into every part of our lives.

In her latest book, Judgment Detox, Gabrielle Bernstein defines judgment as separation from love. “The moment we see ourselves as separate from anyone else, we detour into a false belief system that is out of alignment with our true nature, which is love.”

It’s true. Judgment is the opposite of love: it can be cruel, divisive, and mean-spirited. But love? Love is what brings us together. It reminds us that we’re all people with scars and baggage, and practicing love instead of judgment helps us see the best in others and ourselves, not just the shortcomings and flaws.

Judgment Detox is a six-step process designed to help you face judgment head-on. Step two (Emotional Freedom Techniques, or tapping) was a bit out there even for this open-minded soul, but it fundamentally resembled mindfulness and meditation, which I can get down with. The other five steps offered simple but powerful ways to shift your energy, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for more love and peace in their life.
